‘Ad

‘Ad (also called Ad) is the grandson of Ham who came from the northeast and was the progenitor of the Adites. The Adites are among the first inhabitants of the country of the Arabians.

"He married a 1,000 wives, had 4,000 sons, and lived 1,200 years. His descendants multiplied considerably."

After Ad's death, his sons Shadid and Shedad reigned in succession over the Adites.

Perishing Arabs: The ancient Arabs, of whose history little is known, and of whom were ‘Ad, Thamûd, Tasam, Jadis, Emlaq, and others.

According to the Qur'an, Ad was a city Noah warned of the Flood.
