Contents

Situation

It is situated in the Paris, France region (called Île-de-France), more precisely in Châtenay-Malabry, Hauts-de-Seine.

History

It was founded in 1829 on a private initiative, but was given to the French state in 1857 by its creator, Alphonse Lavallée . Its official name is École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures.

National and international ties

The École Centrale Paris belongs to the French Intergroupe des Écoles Centrales, together with École Centrale de Lille, École Centrale de Lyon, and École Centrale de Nantes.

Since 1837, it has built international ties too, which are a very important dimension in this school. Indeed, students come from all around the world to study for a couple of years on the school campus, and the École Centrale students can also obtain a double diploma in one of the partner schools (depending on the school and the studies chosen, engineering degree, Master of Science, etc.). The full list of partner universities can be found here *.
