The government of the Åland Islands has requested .ax as its Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD). Currently, however, there is no such TLD and Åland still uses the Finnish ccTLD .fi. .fi will be replaced by .ax if ICANN accepts Åland's application. Most Ålandian websites are under the .aland.fi subdomain. IANA has .ax reserved for Åland, with no sponsoring organizations assigned.
