.travel is Top-level domain submitted to ICANN for approval as a sponsored TLD. It would be restricted to the use of travel agents, airlines, bed and breakfast operators, tourism bureaus, and others in the travel industry. It is sponsored by The Travel Partnership, a New York-based organisation founded to promote the TLD. As of October 2004, approval and implementation was expected in early 2005.
ICANN approved the TLD on April 8, 2005.
