Air Force Academy Professor Badge

The Air Force Academy Professor Badge is a military decoration of the United States Air Force which was first created in the 1980s. The badge recognizes those Air Force officers who have been assigned as full time professors at the United States Air Force Academy. The Air Force is the only branch of the United States armed forces to issue a badge for serving at as a military academy professor.

The Air Force Academy Professor Badge is a permanent decoration and is presented to any Air Force officer who holds an advanced degree and has completed a tour of duty as an instructor at the Air Force Academy. While serving as an instructor, the Air Force Academy Professor badge may be worn as a temporary decoration.

Civilian professors may be also be awarded the Air Force Academy Professor Badge upon recommendation from the Air Force Academy Commandant to the Headquarters Air Education and Training Command.
