Antony Arthur Acland

Sir Antony Arthur Acland KG GCMG GCVO is a British diplomat.

Head of the Diplomatic Service between 1982 and 1986 Acland was then British Ambassador to Washington from 1986 to 1991 under Margaret Thatcher. He was created Provost of Eton College in 1991 and retired in 2000. He was awarded the Order of the Garter in 2001.

Sir Antony is a vocal opponent of Britain's entry into the euro.
