Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker

Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker (born 28 June 1912), German physicist. Weizsäcker was the son of the German diplomat Ernst von Weizsäcker and brother of the later German president Richard von Weizsäcker. He studied under Werner Heisenberg and Niels Bohr. After the Second World War, Weizsäcker was one of the ten German top physicists who were detained at Farm Hall, near Cambridge. From 1957 to 1969, Weizsäcker taught philosophy in Hamburg. From 1970 to 1980, he was Head of the Max Planck Institute in Starnberg.
