Listed here are articles for free and commercial software that can edit musical scores and/or generate sheet music.
I won't delete the above comment, but must add that most of these programs can do a heck of a lot more than just notation. These are sequencers, multi-track recorders, MIDI sequencers, loop editors, etc. Being able to do notation is a useful sub-feature to the main purpose.
