Celadon is a pale, sea-green pigment. From the French 'Céladon,' a character in L'Astrée (a romance by Honoré d'Urfé), celadon also refers to a type of pottery having the same pale green glaze, originally produced in China. Chemically, celadon is formed by combining chromium oxide, cadmium yellow, and titanium-zinc white.
