Centre (Val de Loire) is a region of France which includes six departments:
Geography
The region is surrounded by the regions of Auvergne, Bourgogne, Ile-de-France, Limousin, Basse-Normandie, Haute-Normandie, Pays-de-la-Loire, and Poitou-Charentes.
It includes the rich, fertile valleys of the Loire River and its tributaries named in the names of the departments.
It is known for its many châteaux, which attract many tourists to the region.
