Concord grape

Image:ConcordGrape.jpg

Concord grapes are a grape variety used as both table grapes and wine grapes . Concord grapes are a variety of the North American Vitis labrusca species.

They are a slip-skin variety meaning that the skin is easily separated from the fruit. Concord grapes are often used to make grape jelly and are occasionally available as table grapes, especially in New England. Concord grapes may have many health benefits such as reducing hypertension and the negative effects of second-hand smoking, but these results are tentative. Like all grapes, concord grapes are a type of fruit, and unlike some grapes, they have seeds.
