Cubic metre

The cubic metre (symbol ) is the SI derived unit of volume. It is the volume of a cube with edges one metre in length. Older, now unofficial, equivalents were the stere and the kilolitre.

1 cubic metre is equal to:

A cubic metre of pure water at a temperature of 3.98 °C (degrees Celsius) and standard atmospheric pressure has a mass of 999.972 kg (one tonne)

It is abbreviated cbm when superscript isn't available (i.e. when there is no superscript 3 key).

cubic decimetre << cubic metre << cubic kilometre
