Dead Cities

Dead Cities is a mod of the commercial computer game Battlefield 1942 (2002). A total conversion mod, Dead Cities features a post-apocalyptic theme similair to the Mad Max environment. The mod had its first public release in June 2004 and featured extensive thematic changes to the original game, several original maps, and many original vehicles and weapons.

In the same mod niche, released several months earlier, is Wasteland 2042. Also for BF1942, it has a similar Mad Max/post-apocalyptic type theme, but executed differently by a different mod team.

The two armies depicted in the game consist of the 'Road Warriors' and the 'Civilian Compound'. Eight original vehicles, unique artwork, and many weapons are included in the initial release.

Release history:

  • June 13, 2004 - Dead Cities v1.0 (41.55 mb)
  • June 18, 2004 - Dead Cities v1.2
