Delay

Delay is:

  • In sound effects, any of a class of effect that adds one or more delayed versions of the original signal, to create effects such as echo or flanger.
  • In telecommunications, either:
    1. In radar, the electronic delay of the start of the time base used to select a particular segment of the total.
    2. The amount of time by which an event is retarded.
    3. The time between the instant at which a given event occurs and the instant at which a related aspect of that event occurs.
