Derek Twigg

(John) Derek Twigg (born 9 July 1959) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Labour member of Parliament for Halton, and was first elected in 1997.

Between 2002 and 2004 he served as a whip. On the 16th December 2004, in the reshuffle following the resignation of David Blunkett, he was appointed junior education minister in the Department for Education and Skills.
