Derwent Valley Line

The Derwent Valley Line is a railway line from Derby to Matlock in Derbyshire.

The line follows the Midland Main Line as far as Ambergate Junction, which is south of Ambergate railway station. The line then continues to Matlock, following the course of the River Derwent.

Local passenger services are operated by Central Trains between Derby and Matlock. Services are approximately hourly, but with some gaps. The line is also used by Midland Mainline and Virgin Trains between Derby and Ambergate Junction.
