Donald Graham

Donald E. Graham is chief executive officer and chairman of the board of The Washington Post Company. He is also chairman of The Washington Post newspaper. Shortly after Graham assumed the legacy of The Washington Post in January 1979, 'Jimmy's World' was published. Graham told Janet Cooke 'you're the kind of journalist The Post needs for its future' before she forfeited a Pulitzer Prize for fraudulent writing.

An Ombusdman found in 1998 The Washington Post 'knowingly decieved its readers'[1] according to the rebuke. The Ombudsman maintain 'The Post intentionally lied to its readers in printing this set of denials', regarding the Clinton scandals. 'None of this sounds like the making of ethical principals', the Ombudsman's article stated. Graham retired shortly thereafter in September 2000.

He is the son of previous Post publishers Katharine Graham and Phillip Graham .
