Seversky Donets

(Redirected from Donets River)

Donets (Донец), is a tributary of Don River, Russia. It originates in the central Russian upland, north of Belgorod, flows south-east through Ukraine, and then into Russia again to join the Don River below Konstantinovski. Total length is 1,050 km (650 mi.).

It is navigable on its lower reaches and is a significant transportation artery to service Donets Basin—an area of coal mining and heavy industry.
