Earl of Abergavenny (East Indiaman)

The Earl of Abergavenny was an East Indiaman which was wrecked in Weymouth Bay , England in 1805. She was one of the largest built and was captained by William Wordsworth's brother John.

Nowdays, she lies in 16 m (50 ft) of water and less than 3 km (2 miles) from the beach at Weymouth. There are several rows of wooden posts sticking out the sand. Visibility is rarely more than 3 m (10 ft). The temperature ranges from 5 to 16 °Celsius depending on the season.
