Edward Yourdon is a computer consultant, author, and lecturer and a recognised pioneer in a software engineering methodology - structured programming.
Ed was the lead developer of the structured systems analysis and design methodology (SSADM) of the 1970s, and was a co-developer of the Yourdon/Whitehead method of object-oriented analysis/design.
He has authored over 550 technical articles and authored or coauthored 26 computer books since 1967.
He was a prominent alarmist about the impact of the Year 2000 problem, but acknowledged afterward that he had been quite wrong.
He is a graduate of MIT.
