Eden Roc is a census-designated place located in Hawaii County, Hawaii. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 451.
Geography
Eden Roc is located at 19°29'40" North, 155°6'20" West (19.494564, -155.105427).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18.2 km² (7.0 mi²). 18.2 km² (7.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 451 people, 186 households, and 109 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 24.8/km² (64.2/mi²). There are 241 housing units at an average density of 13.3/km² (34.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 47.23% White, 0.89% African American, 1.33% Native American, 4.66% Asian, 7.76% Pacific Islander, 1.77% from other races, and 36.36% from two or more races. 12.86% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 186 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.2% are married couples living together, 12.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% are non-families. 33.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 1.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 3.12.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 29.3% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 31.5% from 45 to 64, and 2.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 110.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 123.1 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $15,658, and the median income for a family is $38,229. Males have a median income of $21,146 versus $19,464 for females.
