Edgar Roni Figaro, or King Edgar, is a fictional character in the SquareSoft video game Final Fantasy VI. He is the king of Figaro, a strange castle, equipped with special engines making it able to descend and move underground. When Edgar and his twin brother Sabin's father died, neither wanted the throne; they both wanted the freedom away from the castle and its wars. They decided to toss a coin and the winner could opt for his freedom. Edgar, however, could not bear to see the heavy burden of being a king being laid upon his brother's shoulders, and used a double-sided coin and "won" the throne. Edgar gives the impression that he is allied with the Empire, but the truth is that he dislikes the empire and supports the Returners, a resistance group, secretly. He is a ladies' man and flirts with every woman he meets.
Edgar's special skill is the Tools command, where he uses a mechanical tool against his enemies.
The young king of Figaro Castle,

Edgar's tools
- Auto Crossbow - Damage to the entire enemy party.
- Noise Blaster - Attempts to confuse (Muddle) all enemies; very useful.
- Bio Blaster - Sprays poison gas at all enemies; damage + poison status.
- Chain Saw - Very powerful single strike which ignores defenses fully; alternate version attempts instant kill, complete with hockey mask.
- Flash - Damage to the entire enemy party; causes blindness in enemies.
- Debilitator - Adds elemental weaknesses, one per use, to target enemy. Will override an enemy's native elemental defenses/immunities.
- Drill - Powerful single strike; ignores defenses fully.
- Air Anchor - The affected enemy will die if it attempts to perform any action. This may be the precursor to Final Fantasy IX's "Heat" status...
Music
In "Final Fantasy VI: Original Sound Version," Edgar shares a theme with Sabin, his brother; their theme is called "Edgar and Mash" ("Edgar and Sabin" in the U.S.) -- disc 1, track 7. (It is also the background music in Figaro Castle.) Their leitmotif is also found in the tracks:
- Coin Song -- 2, 2
- Ending Theme [Character Medley] -- 3, 15
