Emilio Palma

Emilio Marcos Palma (born January 7, 1978) was the first person to have been born on the continent of Antarctica. He was born farther south than anyone else in history. He was born to Argentine parents in Fortín Sargento Cabral at the Esperanza Base near the tip of the Antarctic peninsula. Since his parents were Argentinian, Palma was declared an Argentine citizen. He is featured in the Guinness Book of Records as the first person born in Antarctica.
