Fifteen (TV show)

Fifteen (Canadian title, Hillside) was a live-action television series that aired on the Nickelodeon TV channel in the US and on YTV in Canada. Dealing with teenager and high school issues, it featured a large ensemble cast which underwent several changes over the show's four-season run. The show was filmed in Vancouver and Orlando (seasons 3 and 4).

The series was Nickelodeon's first and only teenage soap opera. It followed the students of Hillside School and dealt with a variety of issues including dating, divorce, alcohol abuse, and friends. The series lasted from 1991 until 1993. Sixty-five episodes were produced.

In 1993, various actors, including Ryan Reynolds and Laura Harris were nominated for a Young Artist Award.

  • Fifteen was also the title of another Canadian TV series filmed in Saskatchewan in the early 1980s. Also set in a high school, the limited-run series was noted for having its actors perform improvised dialogue rather than following a script.
