Hanscom Field

Hanscom Field is an airport located in Bedford, Massachusetts, United States, operated by the Massachusetts Port Authority. It is primarily a general aviation facility, though there has been limited scheduled airline service. Its two runways are shared with Hanscom Air Force Base, a research facility. Hanscom's IATA Airport Code is BED. Its ICAO airport code is KBED.

Any attempt to expand airline service at Hanscom generates intense opposition from neighboring communities who are wary of noise and traffic. These concerns have lessened as T. F. Green Airport in Providence, Rhode Island and Manchester, New Hampshire Airport have become viable alternatives to Logan International Airport, the region's main airport.

Hanscom can be reached by car by following Route 2A west from exit 30B on I-95/Route 128. It is serviced by the MBTA's Route 76 bus from Alewife Station.
