Helsingborg Municipality

(Redirected from Helsingborg)
Coat of Arms

Helsingborg is a municipality (population 117,737) and city in Scania in southernmost Sweden. It is at the point in Sweden closest to Denmark and to the Danish city of Elsinore, across the strait of Öresund. Which is connect by three different boat companies.

Helsingborg has an adequate nightlife, and good bands tend to periodically play at the club "The Tivoli" (not to be confused with Tivoli in Copenhagen). It's not much for shoppers, but you can find the basics.

The nearby castle of Sofiero, that was the previous king Gustav VI Adolf's country mansion, and willed to the city of Helsingborg after his death in 1973, holds some very large gardens with a wide range of local (and other) plantlife situated at the Öresund shore some kilometres to the North.
