Henophidia is a superfamily that contains boas, pythons and other "primitive" snakes. It belongs to the suborder Serpentes, the snakes.

It contains the following families:

  • Family Aniliidae (coral pipe snakes and pipe snakes)
  • Family Anomochilidae (dwarf pipe snakes)
  • Family Boidae (boas and pythons)
  • Family Bolyeriidae (Round Island boas)
  • Family Cylindrophiidae (Asian pipe snakes)
  • Family Loxocemidae (Mexican burrowing pythons)
  • Family Tropidophiidae (dwarf boas)
  • Family Uropeltidae (shield-tailed snakes and short-tail snakes)
  • Family Xenopeltidae (sunbeam snakes)
