Korea University is one of the best private universities in South Korea.

Contents

History

Korea University was founded in 1905 and started its education with the name of "Bosung College." The early 19'th is the era of the occupation of Japan, so Bosung College started the education under the ideology of national salvation through education.

In 1946 Bosung College established a university and changed the name from Bosung College to Korea University.

During the 60's Korea university students triggered the 4.19 Landmark protest for democratic reform which is a national holiday now.

In 1980 Korea university contructed another campus in Jochiwon, Korea and named Jochiwon campus, which was changed Seochang campus in 1987.

In 2005 Korea University will have the centenial annyversiry.

  • 4.18 Marathon (April 18th Marathon)on April
  • Korea-Yonsei Annual Games ( usually say Koyeoncheon Hangul 고연전 or Yeonkocheon Hangul연고전 ) with Yonsei University on September
