Levice [le-vi-tse] (Hungarian: Léva, German: Lewenz) is a town in western Slovakia. The town lies on the left bank of the lower Hron river (Old-Slavic name of the town was Leva, that means „the Left One“).
Location: in the NE corner of the Danubian Plain / Podunajská nížina , 70 mi E of Bratislava, 25 mi SE of Nitra, 26 mi NE of Nové Zámky, 20 mi SW of Banská Štiavnica , 34 mi SW of Zvolen, 16 mi from the border with Hungary.
