Lidingö Municipality

Lidingö is a Municipality in Stockholm County, as well as an island in central Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 30.2 km² and consists of from the island Lidingö and a few smaller islands surrounding it (including Fjäderholmarna ) in the Baltic Sea.

The island Lidingö is connected to the city of Stockholm by two bridges (one for cars and one for the Lidingöbanan railway and pedestrian access). The bridges allow direct access to the Ropsten station of the Stockholm subway.

Its total population is 41,194 people (2004) with a population density of 1364 inhabitants per km². Lidingö is one of the wealthiest Municipalities in Sweden.
