Location

Location is a position or point in physical space expressed in relation to other things' positions. A real location can often be designated by Cartesian coordinates. One's own personal location is often designated: "here." On the Earth one can use the Geographic coordinate system to describe one's location.

AVL is Automatic Vehicle Location.

The term location, was often used in South Africa to describe an urban area inhabited by non-whites, although the term was replaced in common usage by the term township.
