Neuronopathy

Neuronopathy is dysfunction due to damage to neurons of the peripheral nervous system (PNS), resulting in a peripheral neuropathy.

It may be caused by motor neurone diseases, sensory neuronopathies (e.g., Herpes zoster), toxins or autonomic dysfunction. A person with neuronopathy may present in different ways, depending on the cause, the way it affects the nerve cells, and the type of nerve cell that is most affected.
