New Wave

The term "New Wave" has been used to describe several movements in art. These include:

• Several movements in film:
  • The French new wave, or nouvelle vague.
  • The British New Wave.
  • The Hong Kong New Wave, a movement in Hong Kong film led by Tsui Hark.
• The New Wave music movement which occurred in the U.S. and U.K. in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
• The New Wave movement in science fiction.
• NewWave is also a name of a software product released by Hewlett-Packard circa 1988.
