Noscapine (also known as Narcotine) is an opiod analgesic agonist. It is grouped as part of the Benzylisoquinolines , of which papaverine, a smooth muscle relaxant isolated from opium, is also included. Noscapine is used for its antitussive effects or cough suppression.
