Pharmacy practice

Pharmacy practice is the discipline of pharmacy which involves developing the professional roles of pharmacists.

Areas of pharmacy practice include:

  • Disease-state management
  • Clinical interventions (please note that this is a small part of what students in pharmacy are taught in Quebec, Canada)
    • Initiation and/or adjustment of warfarin therapy
    • Refuse to dispense a drug on a doctor's prescription (Dosage too high, dosage too low, drug interactions, severe adverse reactions like anaphylactic reaction, etc.)
