Phosphite

Phosphite is a polyatomic ion with the formula: PO33-. The archaic name for phosphite was phosphorous, not to be confused with phosphorus.

The acid of phosphite is phosphorous acid (H3PO3). Other names are orthophosphorous acid, dihydroxyphosphine oxide, phosphorus trihydroxide and trihydroxyphosphine.
