Place Monge (Paris Metro)

Place Monge is a station of the Paris Métro. It is named after Gaspard Monge (17461818), French mathematician and inventor of descriptive geometry.

The station is located under the Place Monge , in the Ve arrondissement, in the eastern part of the Latin Quarter. Close to animation of the restaurants and street market of Rue Mouffetard, the Place Monge is in general fairly calm, apart from its scheduled food market.

On one side of the plaza lies the front entrance of Republic Guard barracks.
