Gabriel, Prince of Belgium

(Redirected from Prince Gabriel of Belgium)

His Royal Highness Prince Gabriel (French: Gabriel Baudouin Charles Marie, Dutch: Gabriël Boudewijn Karel Maria) is the second child and eldest son of Prince Philippe of Belgium, Duke of Brabant, the heir apparent to the throne of Belgium, and his wife Princess Mathilde.

He was born August 20, 2003, in Anderlecht, near Brussels. Twelve years before, a new act of succession was put into effect which created the possibility for his sister Princess Elisabeth to become Queen of Belgium. Therefore it seems very unlikely that he will one day become King of the Belgians.

His godparents are baroness Hans-Ulrich von Freyberg , born as Maria Christina Rossi di Montelera, and Charles-Henri d'Udekem d'Acoz , brother of Princess Mathilde.
