Project Mogul was a top secret project involving high-altitude balloons carrying radar corner reflectors, designed to detect atomic bomb explosions and possibly forewarn of an atomic attack on the United States run by Dr. James Peoples , assisted by Dr. Albert P. Crary. It was said that one of these balloons was what crashed at Roswell, New Mexico, and that the desire to maintain secrecy on this project eventually led to the Roswell UFO incident.
