Qualitätswein bestimmter Anbaugebiete more commonly abbreviated to QbA is a category in the German wine classification, reserved for riper grapes than Deutscher Tafelwein and Deutscher Landwein but lower quality than "predikat" wines. The grapes may be chaptalized.
Occasionally German wine growers who wish to avoid the restrictions of the classification system will sell their wine as QbA even though it is of much higher quality.
