Quantum channel

A quantum channel is a communication channel which can transmit quantum information, as opposed to a classical information channel which is a communication channel transmitting only classical information. Examples might be: the light travelling over fiber optics, or a signal, either analog or digital, travelling over cable lines.

Although classical channels cannot transmit quantum information by themselves, they can be useful in combination with quantum channels.
