Quintin Hogg (1845-1903) was an English merchant, known for his philanthropic activities. Hogg was born in London and educated at Eton College, then became involved in London trade, particularly the commodities of tea and sugar. Having made a fortune in these trades, he proceeded to open a school for poor children at Charing Cross in 1864. In 1882, he founded Regent Street Polytechnic, and it was in that actual place that he died.
