RUV

RUV or the Ríkísútvarpiđ (Pronounced Rikissootvarpith) is the main state broadcaster for Iceland. Operating out of studios based at Efstaleiti 1, 150 Reykjavík, Iceland, it broadcasts a mixture of general programming to a very wide audience across the whole country.

The RUV carries arts, media and current affairs programming, as well as sports, news, documentaries and children's programming. They also have a news bulletin broadcast in Táknmál (Manual Sign Language) and various other content.

RUV uses for its longwave transmissions on 189 kHz the tallest radio mast in Europe, the Longwave radio mast Hellissandur, which is the tallest construction in Europe (except of Russia).
