Randy California (born Randy Craig Wolfe; February 20, 1951 - January 2, 1997) was a guitarist, singer and songwriter and one of the original members of the rock group Spirit, formed in 1967. Together with his stepfather Ed Cassidy, California was one of the most prominent members of the band and he wrote most of the band's songs. Apart from Spirit, Randy California also had a solo-career. He drowned on January 2, 1997 near Molokai, Hawaii.
