Robert Abbott

Robert Abbott (born 1933) is an American game inventor.

Abbott was an early computer programmer, working with IBM 360 assembly language. He turned his hand to designing games from 1962.

Among the games he has designed are the chess variant Baroque chess (also known as Ultima); the card game Eleusis; and the game Crossings and Epaminondas. Many of his games are available only in his book, Abbott's New Card Games (Stein & Day 1963).
