Schlossberg

The word "Schlossberg" literally means castle mountain and that's exactly what it is. It is a mountain with a castle on top in the centre of the city Graz, Austria.

In the past this castle was never occupied and it meant for the safety for all people living in Graz. Now it's a tourist attraction. It contains the most famous sight of Graz, the Uhrturm (clock tower). Near the "Uhrturm" there is a cafeteria with a view over the old city center of Graz. Also on top of the mountain there is an open air stage for performances. To reach the top of the hill one can use an elevator which has been constructed inside the mountain or one of the older sets of ways and stairs.
