The Lancet

The Lancet is a British medical journal, published weekly by the Lancet Publishing Group. It takes its name from the surgical instrument called a lancet. The present editor-in-chief is Richard Horton.

There are several specialized editions of The Lancet, called The Lancet Neurology (neurology), The Lancet Oncology (oncology) and The Lancet Infectious Diseases (infectious diseases).
