The Primitives

This article is about the indie rock band, the Primitives. For the artists of the early Gothic period of art, at the end of the medieval period and the beginning of the Renaissance, see Early Renaissance painting and Flemish Primitives.

The Primitives were a British indie rock band from Coventry formed in 1985 by Kieron ? (vocals), Paul Court (vocals, guitar), Steve Dullaghan (bass) and Pete Tweedie (drums). Kieron was soon replaced by Tracy Tracy (born Tracy Cattell in Australia), whose blonde good looks and distinctive voice helped the band to achieve great success for a brief period before their career began to fade in the late 1980s. They broke up in 1991 following the failure of their final album, Galore.

Albums

Following their break-up three more albums were released:

  • Bombshell -- The Hits & More (1994)
  • Best of The Primitives (1996)
  • Bubbling Up -- BBC Sessions (1998)
