Thierry Breton

Thierry Breton (born January 15, 1955 in Paris) is the French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industry. He was appointed on February 25, 2005, replacing Hervé Gaymard.

He was born in the XIVe arrondissement of Paris. He studied at the École supérieure d'électricité and later at the Institut des hautes études de défense nationale .

He is the chief executive of France Télécom. He is a knight of the Légion d'honneur and an officer of the Ordre National du Mérite.
