Thioether

A thioether (also known as a sulfide) is similar to an ether, however an atom of sulfur is found instead of oxygen. The chemical properties of both atoms are similar, as they are in the same group in the periodic table. Essentually it is an (-S-) structure, and it is also found in the amino acid, Methionine.

Simple volatile thioethers have foul odors.
